Rumour?

Hi folks;

I'm hearing unconfirmed reports that owners of "chipped" or "modded" STB's have lost service.

Can anyone confirm this?

Would really make my day if it were the case!

From reading other sites it certainly seems that way. :)

Shame eh? Maybe now they can pay for the service like everyone else.

It will at least put a dent into the people who don't actually know how it works and have got someone (dodgy installer, flyer, local market etc.) to put in a dodgy box. They will hopefully be forced into subscribing legitimately to the services rather than getting things changed again.

It is a box that has been altered so that the user does not have to pay for the services. I don't think going into the details of how it is done is necessary but it is people, and some people feel it necessary to steal services from cable operators :rolleyes:

As you are paying your service, this news will not affect you, it is most likely a CATV problem in your area so your services should be back soon :)
