Hello all i were wondering if that modem can take yet another upgrade as i would want to go on 3mb if that does happen like they say so lol :confused:

No upgrade required. The modem will be fine for 3meg :)

Yep. I don't think any of the stand alone modems will need replaced to handle upgrades.

Hi Wizardman,
The same modem can be used on the new service levels all ntl need to do is send a new configuration file to the modem to allow it to run at the new speeds as and when required.

NTL upgrades the AMBIT firmware regularly (once/twice a year):

C2403222
.cpr (2003)
C2403225.cpr (current)

I have not seen
C2403223.cpr or C2403224.cpr.

Apparently, the last firmware upgrade was to fix the problem that all Ambit modems tended to switch to the same upstream channel (the one that had the least noise) thus unbalancing the UBR...
