I want to stress my cpu

Any one got a proggy which would cause my cpu to run at 100%?
I want to crank up the heat a little.
I remember MS having a little prog which acted like a runaway process to show people how to trouble shoot them.

have a search on M$ website for an app called badapp.exe it used to be available on there BBS (Wow do people remember these!) Let me know if you don't have any joy and I'll try dig it out but I binned most of my floppy disks!

You could always run a microsoft application!!! (or get a virus!)

You could go to United Devices & download the research project utility, it is helping research into the cure for cancer and/or smallpox. It uses all idle time of your CPU, or just screen saver time.

Check it out here

Also try a benchmarking program such as 3DMark :)

prime95 (might sound old but isnt) is a tool used by mostly overclockers to find an upperstable limit, it can be set to a mode that will throughly max out your cpu which would test your stability and heat production to its limit

Some graphics cards (non fully compliant Dx9 cards) stop a lot of 3d mark tests from running.

Sisoft did the trick, thanks :)

Yes but it still stresses the cpu with what it does run.
I've got an athlon 2400xp, 1gb ram & geforce4 4600 and I'm on 3fps on the trolls in the cave section
