Bluetooth
 

I currently network two hard wired computers through a D-Link router and very nice it is too. I can connect in another room via the modem.

I looking at possible upgrades to make it wire free and was wondering the options. I have heard of Bluetooth and I'm unsure if this is an appropriate option.

There are many different wireless technologies. For networking computers you'll probably want to look at WiFi rather than Bluetooth... start here:
