Phone response

According to a Manchester Evening News survey, NTL are No 1 for phone waits, at 18 Mins 14 secs, closely followed by BT Yahoo! at 15 minutes 2 secs.

Fair enough - we all know that NTL phone waits are unacceptable long, and hopefully(?) they are doing something about it.

- However - "An NTL spokeswoman said 'Our average 'speed of answer' has been running consistently at around two minutes'". Who is she kidding? Or does this include 'Sales' calls?

quite possibly it does , exactly how scientific was the survey i wonder , if they rang ntl around 6-00pm then i would expect the wait to be a bit longer than if you rang them , say mid morning or afternoon :erm:

I can't comment on other call times as up until last night I haven't called NTL in a year.

But I did get through to sales in about 3 rings. They were very polite and efficient.

Here we go again, there must be something odd about me always succeed in getting responses from NTL Customer Services quickly. So, how long does it take them at the Manchester Evening News? Regurgitated old stories?

;)

Last time I tried MEN (newspaper not arena) 2weeks ago at ~15:00 I was in hold for 25 minutes, not good :( .

Average NTL hold time for me usually ~8 mins

I never have a problem getting through to NTL. Most I have ever had to wait is 5-7 minutes.

My last 3 calls to NTL.
one to sales this had a hold of 12 mins.

one to Tech support this had a hold of 62 mins

again to tech to report the fault was not my modem but the network hold for 25 mins answered just before midnight.
