I belive he is refering to the "Anti-social Behaviour Act" of 2003
(http://www.legislation.hmso.gov.uk/a...3/20030038.htm)

and the relevent bits are: "Part 6: The Enviroment"
under
"Penalty notices for graffiti and fly-posting"
and also
"Removal of graffiti"

What is the point in cleaning the CABs. The weekened after they have been cleaned it will be covered again.

I think there is about 1 CAB in our area which hasnt been covered.

Another classic case of tackling the result of the problem and not the CAUSE of the problem.

Great they force Telewest and the little **"ÃƒÆ’Ã†â€™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…Â¡ÃƒÆ’Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£ÃƒÆ ’ƒâ€šÃ‚£*ÃƆ™ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£( comes back of his community service of half an hour and does the same again.

What a waste of time and money.

The simple solution..............tougher penalties for the crime

its all well and good that you say that, but what would you recomend as a punishment? shouldn't you blame the parents for some of it?

Perhaps he should spend his community service cleaning up his canvas for the next spraying spree (and repeat...)

Well the parents could be blamed..as kids attain a lack of respect from their parents

Tougher punishments designed to instill a bit of respect, something similar to national service would sort them all out.

This country is becoming a joke, Its fast becoming a place where crime (pikey *******s) and laziness (chav doleites) pay more than hard work.

i agree, tbh those ned's (chav's) should be forced to clean the cabs themselves. and the parents along with them.

Make them clean it up, make the parents take a more responsible role in the kids lives and stop the idiots supplying them with the cans of paint, marker pens etc
The kids need to accept the punnishment for their actions but parents need to accept some blame for allowing their kids to continue behaving like this. Too many parents let their kids just wander the streets at night because it is easier and far less work than making them stay home to do homework etc.

So you never went out with friends round the streets in your youth? If the government actually provided things to do in the local community for youth there would not be as many cases of this.

Nope, even in my youth I was a little too responsible to see graffiti as an acceptable form of expression ;) Quite often the local councils/ government do provide things for youngsters to do... and quite often either those youngsters vandalise/ wreck them or local "adults" do. I'm all for giving youngster things to do but we can't just blame lack of facilities for the behaviour of some kids. I used to play outside quite happily with an old tennis ball or football for hours, these days if there isn't a gamepad or tv attached a lot of kids don't want to know :(

Round here there is not a single thing to do for someone who is 16 years old. I have never gone round putting graffiti all over the place but what we do is not the issue.
