Understanding your network

I am creating a group (not a hacking group) on providing free information to admins etc on understanding their network, making it secure, provision of any free tools, information on secure programming (such as detection and prevention of smashing the stack), any tips (such as sshd_configs, emailing admins on root access etc)

If anyone would like to help me please drop me a line
