Is this a fault.....?
On certain channels on ntl TV, I sometimes get a fault as follows: it is as if I am watching a video, and pressing the 'pause' button for a second or two. Everything freezes, then carries on as normal. When this happens once or twice a minute, it's annoying, but not worth moaning about, but when it happens once or twice every fifteen seconds, it's a different matter.
But I'm sure that if I DO find the time to sit on the phone and wait for the Faults Centre, I'll be told it's out of ntl's control. Any expert opinion would be interesting. Thanks. Allen, NW Londonl |
Re: Is this a fault.....?
That's one of the problems that I had with NTL DTV that they were never able to solve despite several STB swaps. It was at its worst during very hot summer weather. Thankfully switching to Sky and getting Sky+ gave me a far better viewing experience which isn't affected by the weather despite what some on here usually try to make you believe.

Glad other people understood that more, I got very confused at the mention of watching a video and hitting the pause button freezing the picture.

Re: Is this a fault.....?
Can anybody help? I have a Pace STB D14001 NC on the Langley platform. The problems I have been having are, the mini menu keeps loosing the information, and interactive is locking-up. Also the STB keeps loosing its wide screen settings. When I hit the page up and page down, then the blue button I get three screens and an event log.
Screen one tells me the STB does not have an IP addy (not good??) plus other info Screen three tells me the Con Status: 5 connected (good) plus other info Screen four the event log tells me every two mins or so 167 lost OOB lock (not good???) I have spoken to a few people at NTL but theyâ₠¬Ã¢â€žÂ¢re not sure if this is a problem. I have an engineer booked for this afternoon swaping out the STB to see if it sorts the problems and check the signal strength again; on other occasions engineers have either added or removed attenuators, I now have a good selection of them. Any expert opinion would be interesting. :tu: |
