Re: ntl to recruit 80 more staff
Not great news for me, as this is the reason I am being made redundant from my role.

Re: ntl to recruit 80 more staff
I have to say it's about time. I have had to ring NTL more times that I'd care to mention over the last few weeks. The message that they are having 'heavy call volumes' is now standard, as is a wait of around 1/2 hour. That tells me it's not a case of peaks and troughs, it's all peaks because there are not enough staff. And who suffers, us the poor bloody NTL customer!

Re: ntl to recruit 80 more staff
customer relations only deal with cancelling customers as far as i am aware, but they are employing 500 new staff for manchester, so hopefully the q's will start to go down!!

cool that brings the total to 81 then it seems :)

Re: ntl to recruit 80 more staff
Is having a good telephone manner preferential to having any technical experience when becoming a Customer Service Rep with NTL. I suspect the people who deal with the billing side of relations would need a good telephone manner, whereas the people on the Technical Support line would be better suited to have technical knowledge rather than a smooth talking excellence in customer relations.

Re: ntl to recruit 80 more staff
I would guess technical knowledge will come behind phone manner, I have worked for an isp before and they had office experience over knowledge and it was bad.
