Is TW an all digital platform?

Or do they have an analogue legacy like NTL does?

Re: Is TW an all digital platform?

there are some analogue areas on the telewest network.
The former CableTime areas are analogue (birmingham and liverpool/blackpool areas). but telewest have upgraded birmingham fully to digital and broadband, and they are about to fully upgrade the other cabletime area to dtv and bb.
the other area is former-eurobell, in the south-east (tonbridge area). it is still analogue, and no plans, of yet, to upgrade.

:)

Telewest have been sending out correspondance to customers in the north-east, Chorley region (one of the areas still anaogue only) to announce the upgrade to digital. After this the only area left to upgrade will be the Tunbridge Wells, Slough (Eurobell) areas, then hopefully Telewest will be all digital.

From the figures both companies gave in their last financial reports, Telewest have a larger percentage of "analogue only" areas than NTL. Can't remember the exact number, but it surprised me.

Isn't the Sutton area of south London Telewest and analogue only? I know about Slough/Maidenhead, always thought it odd that ntl's digital head end was in a non-digital Telewest area :)
