NTL Customer Service
When you have a problem with a NTL service I would presume that your first port of call to get it resolved is to telephone NTL. If that call does not resolve your problem what do you next to try to get a resolution?
Mod Edit (Chris T):Poll added, post tidied, as requested. |
Re: Where do you look for help?
Always Cable Forum first for me ... actually unless the problem is a total loss of service, I come here before I phone them, because phoning NTL routinely involves a long wait.

Re: Where do you look for help?
Perhaps having the option to look for help on the cableforum site is what most regular users of these forums would try. Please post within the thread what your selection would have been if cableforum did not exist.

Re: Where do you look for help?
Cableforum ... then google search
If nothing that way resort to phoning them :( |
Re: Where do you look for help?
Actually I'll generally look or ask here first as 9 times out of 10 I end up completely annoyed by either the long queues or total lack of care offered by the person at ntl. Sad I know, but true.

Re: Where do you look for help?
Cableforum every time..
However., I always come here before contacting NTL, as I am more than likely to get : a) an answer ;) b) a sensible answer :D c) logical questions if the answer is not clear. as opposed to a scripted response, and comments along the lines of " we don't support networks " as soon as they discover I have a router. (also I tend to be able to diagnose to a certain level myself, and this forum has people who can confirm both diagnosis and resolution.) |
Re: Where do you look for help?
I visit here whilst I'm listening to the on-hold music :D

Re: Where do you look for help?
There are so many helpful people here that I come here.
Waiting 30 minutes to be cut off or given some rubbish story by a technician on the phone isnt worth it. |
Re: Where do you look for help?
While I was still with NTL I'd come here first, mainly because it was much better than the 2x45mins i'd usually have to wait to actually speak to anyone....
Now that I'm not with ntl - I STILL come here 'cos you're all such nice guys/girls :) |
Re: Where do you look for help?
Never had a real problem but my second port of call would be Chetnet forums, after Cableforum.
|
Re: Where do you look for help?
IF there was no cableforum I guess I would phone again. And again. And gain. And aga.......Mind if it wasn't sorted then I'd probably try H2G2 as there is a good selection of people on a site that large that would be able to help.I'd look through the guide pages and then ask in the Ask H2G2 page if I found nothing. It's my other port of call when I need info. :)

Re: Where do you look for help?
well luckily my service has been pretty stable for a long time now, except for my recent blip this week. So I posted here first, then i would grudgingly call the phone support.

Re: Where do you look for help?
It depends on the problem, if there was no Cable Forum then I would look to use another web site that deals with ntl problems (such as Chetnet or ntlhell.co.uk). I would also e-mail the cm help address - they usually respond (after a week or so ....).
If none of these could help then I would Ring ntl again - and after that I would start e-mailing people higher and higher in the company. |
Re: Where do you look for help?
In this order and IF I was unaware of any problem with NTL/ t'internet

Re: Where do you look for help?
CF, if I get no luck from phoning them.
Emailing ntl or using Broadband Medic seems to be a waste of time. |
