Red Button for sale - unused

After many years, from Cable & Wireless days to present, I feel that I am not getting enough for my £80 per month
I have the phone, the 750k broadband and a full package of NTL TV.
I am happy with the phone and the Brodband but am now fed up with the "No schedule data available, a locked up STB, a pointless interactive service and the lack of use of a certain red button! Added to the numerous more channels on SKY plus the appealing extra service with the football makes NTL no longer atttractive. Some symapathy must also be placed on the one man trying to man the phones - also hoping you dont develop a fault outside of office hours!

Anyway.... is it possible to retain the Phone and the Broadband whilst using the phone socket for Sky TV as well (apparently they have to have it plugged into a phone line -they say a land line but not sure if I will have to get another phone line soley for SKY tv ) - Apologies if this sounds dumb but I am not technically minded, I just want value for my money!!!:Yikes:

You will have no problems you can keep your broadband and phone line with ntl no extra phone is line needed you can plug your sky+ box into ntl's phone socket best choice you will make sky+ is the boll*cks

I agree, Sky blows NTLs TV away, even with the basic packageSky all the way. (My mother and father did have NTL for a year and I saw how awful it was, and compared to sky it is very very bad)

Disagree

Sky TV Blows away when the wind and rain blows. Unless you are wooed by red button irritations most of which is utterly pointless tripe designed to further waste our valuable time or countless extra pointless channels playing more reruns or more american imports, there are aboslutely no benefits to Sky unless you are quite partial to lift music playing in the EPG, or you have a degree in astrophysics so you can a deciper the price of a box office movie and then order one to start at the time you require.

Sky+ what is the point.........TV is crap I havent used my video in 2 years so why would I want to pay £99 to record more wahoo!!

Lets get out more!! And stop lining TV execs and Ruperts Pockets!! The world is a good place!

Quite a number of points - Optical out so i can connect it up to my home cinema system and get DD when watching movies.

Easy to pause if you need to nip out for a minute, like last tuesday when the missus called for a lift right as Deadwood was starting, just hit pause and nipped out and watched all of deadwood when I got back.

Plus I discovered a new feature on Wednesday, you can now record the multiscreens (at least with the champions league). So I was able to watch Arsenal - Rosenburg and record AC Milan - Celtic to watch later.

Just cause you think all TV is crap and have no need to record it doesn't mean other people do.

Dont forget if you keep the BB and Phone you will have to pay for your line rental

I've kept the ntl bb & phone but ditched the tv for sky+, best thing i've done and none of the sound distortion prevalent on ntl.

I would have said it's "plug&play" as it's just swapping one modem for another effectively, but then I've also seen people mention about NTL mucking about with people's accounts so...

When I switched from dial up to broadband I kept the same accounts, so I don't see why it should be any different, but then this is NTL we're talking about ;)

These days though I have my own domain name so I can move that about no matter what ISP I use.
