Samsung Doesnt Auto Switch

I have a Samsung STB, when i switch it on it doesnt always switch the TV to the correct scart input however if i then change change on the STB several times it finally does change the TV to the correct scart input.

Does anyone else have this problem?

I know it could be the scart lead but hightly unlikey as it does work eventually, it could also be the TV or the STB but without having another STB i cant prove what it is that is doing this.

Check that the scart lead is pushed in firmly, AFAICR it is pin #8 that controls this & it may not be making a good connection.

It's a problem with the current software. It only happens if the box is tuned to a widescreen programme on a widescreen TV.

It'll be fixed by the next software update. For now, get round it by pressing the AV button on your TV remote.

Thanks spiderplant. That explains why sometimes i flick to the next channel and it fixes it and on some occassions i have to flick several channels. Presumably so i get to a non widescreen channel.

I dont like pressing the AV on my remote as that then stops the other 4 scarts switching automatically. I'll stick with changing channel on the Samsung to get it to switch automatically.
