D-Link DSL-300T Slow Connection

I have purchase a D-Link DSl 300T as I wanted to connect to my Router so needed a ADSL Modem with Ethernet out. I can get the connection working with or without the router but have found that the D-Link has poor connection speeds compared to my SpeedTouch 330.

Any ideas to improve my connection speed? i'm using speed test at
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp to compare the D-Link and SpeedTouch

:welcome: to cable forum :)

Presumably you have checked out the dlink website and got the latest firmware on the dlink device?

:welcome: to cable forum, steven.logan :wavey:

what are your comparative results?

for 'actual' I got 706/122 on my 750 connection cable modem - my son was online on the otherside of the router, though ;)

Low 300 for the D-Link and 450 for the SpeedTouch. I have a 512 connection

The D-Link has a web interface at 192.168.1.1 (if memory serves me correctly) with a default username and password of 'admin' and 'password'. Have a look on the status page at the interface stats and see if the ADSL interface is showing any errors.
