Please translate: Before 12

Hi,

NTL called me yesterday to say they'd be bringing me a new NTL box "before 12"... It's now 12:04... I wanna go out. Any ideas what "before 12" really means? Or is it going to be no show now?

Thanks.

Like any appointment, it is dependant on how well previous appointments went, there can always be delays. You could try ringing and asking - I know in this area they used to ring the engineers mobile and check if he knew an approximate time.

If it turns out to be a no-show, be sure to keep us informed :D

You didn`t arrange the appointment, they just told you they were turning up and they haven`t. Give them a call and tell them that you can`t hang on any longer, I don`t see why you should be penalised for their failings.

Well.. i'm classing it as a no show now. I can't wait in any longer.

The score is 1 appointment met to 2 no shows now. I think I'll not bother waiting in for NTL appointments anymore. Hopefully, one time they decide to turn up I'll be in.

If they're going to be this late a simple courtesy phone call would be nice, I should not have to go around chasing them up. Besides, by the time I would get through to their CS it would be about half-past a week next thursday.

Ah well... what did I expect.

Did they specifically say whether before 12:00 was AM, or PM, or even give a day :erm:

Well they definitely didn't show up at all. I called NTL, amazingly getting answered within a minute, they said; "the technicians themselves are handling it, I'll e-mail him and pass on your details". So far I've heard nothing back.

On the bright side... it's Saturday so I didn't use any holidays from work on this continuing disgrace named NTL.

Did you manage to get the details of this person? If not I'll be surprised if you hear anything further about this.

I thought ntl's engineer slots were the following
0800 - 1300
1300 - 1600
1600 - 2000

Is that changing ?

Actually got a phone call today, on mobile (good thinking!). They just asked if anyone turned up, when I said no, they said; "oh ok, i'll check in to why they didn't turn up".

No further correspondance. At least there seems to be something happening behind the scenes.

No one actually offered an apology for all this yet though... go on, surprise me! :)

John.
