No outgoing phone ???
Been having problems with out NTL phone for a while, not being to dial out.
It usually corrects itself after a few minutes, but last night it was out for several hours. We have a wireless phone, so we tried plugging in our old wired handset but this still didn't work. It seems like the NTL line does not recognise that we are dialing any numbers, just gives the dial tone. We can receive ok. We only have the one phone socket. The phones are BT models, but they have been working fine (mostly) so I don't think this is a problem (or is it?) Anyone else have this problem ? Ang. p.s. also, since the phone was out, we couldn't call to report the problem :P |
Re: No outgoing phone ???
:welcome: to Cable Forum Angahran. A national problem is very unlikely (certainly hasn't affected me) so the first thing is, what part of the country are you in?
I have to say, it sounds to my non-technical ears like a problem on your own line. I'd call them just as soon as it's working again, or from your nearest phone box. There are a few NTL CS people around here, one of them may be able to advise you, so keep an eye on this topic. ;) |
Re: No outgoing phone ???
oops, should have said where I was *grin*
I'm in swindon. We've had this problem on and off since getting the phone, but usually only for a few minutes, last night is first time its been out for longer. Tried calling from my mobile, but they were closed :( Got this topic on instant notification :) |
Re: No outgoing phone ???
I do not know if this will help, but when this occurs have you tried swiching your phone between tone and pulse dialing?
