weathercast program 5 day forecast blah blah

danielf 04-08-2003 18:23

It is ad/spyware. It is bundled with some p2p programs. I think it is supposed to give you a wheather forecast, as an excuse for showing you ads.

very weird , if i open the link with kazaalite running i get a list of my downloads  , i hasten to add that i have no illegal material ;) , if i close kazzalite then the page can not be found , why dont i like this at all , if i remove the items from my shared folder then they disappear from the link if i refresh it :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: , i guess it is spyware but i have run adaware and it said nothing about it

danielf 04-08-2003 18:31

But you haven't actually installed wheathercast have you?

It does sound very weird...

btw: I was not referring to kazaalite when I mentioned it being bundled with some p2p applications.

I don't think that is necessary. Try rebooting first. I've had to install it a couple of time as it was bundled, and it comes with an uninstall option that works (and was is tied down by zonealarm anyway).

The spyware comes with weathercast and is called save.exe
