Webmail up the spout?
I've been unable to connect to my email (using webmail) all day - I get a timeout error
Remote server "webmail.ntlworld.com" is probably not answering. There's nothing on the server status site - anyone else having problems or is it just me? |
Re: Webmail up the spout?
I got bored waiting for it to log me in after a couple of minutes. TBH it's been many months since I lost all respect for the service status page as a reliable indication of whether ntlworld email is working. Webmail is clearly up the spout (again) today, and not for the first time the problem is apparently unacknowledged. :(
Hopefully there might be a passing ntl person hereabouts somewhere that can pass on any inside info, or prompt the relevant webpage publisher to update their information. |
Re: Webmail up the spout?
Miserably slow, if it works at all - first time I'd used webmail, it was absolutely USELESS.

Re: Webmail up the spout?
When it's working properly, its speed and functionality is just fine. The fact that it is miserably slow today - if it lets you on at all - demonstrates that there's something gone wrong with it. That sort of problem should be reported on the service status page, but all too often it isn't.

Re: Webmail up the spout?
I'd noever call it fast even at its best (Hotmail and Netscape are both virtually instant in comparison). But today I've not managed to get on at all. And the status page still says all is well (apart from the good old Southampton problem which has been there for 3 months now...)

Re: Webmail up the spout?
Its working fine here, quite speedy - have you changed proxies and see if that helps, the terrible NTL proxies are often to blame for this kind of thing, I get several sites a day that refuse to load with my default one :(
I wish they'd get rid of them.. |
Re: Webmail up the spout?
I'm connecting from work, not via NTL, and so don't have any control over the proxies (correct me if I'm wrong!)

Thanks, all seems to be working again - for now.

It's definitely on the ntl domain, so it's "legitimate" in that it's not a fake interface that captures your details or anything. It was first posted on nthellworld.com when the main web interface started stamping emails with ntl adverts. This interface did not do it, so people used it instead. I have always found it responds faster than the standard http://webmail.ntlworld.com. |
