ntl to safe-mail.net email problem ...

Hi, :)

I'm having trouble sending mail to
WWW.SAFE-MAIL.NET using ntl.

The folks here were very helpful before when i had
a little problem with sending mail to 'BREATHE'

I wonder if the solution could be similar ?

It was suggested by Pem that i use smtp.ntlworld.com
for the outgoing mail under 'Breathe',
i did so, and all was well.

Could i do the same thing under Safe-Mail ?

Best regards to you all, John :)

Hi John,

As long as you connected to NTL then you can change your smtp to NTL to send your mail via them.

:D

Hi John,

It will relay/send via NTL but will come back via safe mail.

That is providing you only changed the smtp to NTL and left POP as safe mail.

:)

My mail is in.
And it appears to have come from my Safe-mail account.
Many thanks, this forum is brilliant.
Regards, John :)

John,

The recipient will see the mail from the name of the account.

I.e. if you goto tools/accounts/general tab it will take the info from there.

However if the receipient is clever and they choose when receiving the mail to goto to file properties and details then they can see the recieved from paths hich will show you have relayed the mail from your ntl details.

;)

Also bear in mind if they reply it will come in on the safe mail address.

Hi Carlingman and Paul M,

Thank you both very much for your help.
My email accounts are working fine now.

I don't see how it benefits ntl to be obstructive.

As for Freserve, a problem that had puzzled me for
some time was finally explained when i chanced opon
this peculiar page from "Paranoid Fish" :
http://www.paranoidfish.org/notes/2004/03/16/2243

Apparently the word "test" causes problems with
freeserve emails.
I had often used that word when testing, but i wont
any more. Now i use "check" or "Email check"

I hope that snippet will help someone somewhere.

Regards, John :)
