Analogue System

Hi all, as you will notice this is my first post. Heres my problem, hope you can solve it!!
I have then NTL analogue system (GI/Jerrold Box), however a friend of mine had the bright idea to mess about with it and has managed to disable the reomte from working.
Do any of you guys know how to reset the remote? or reset the box to enable the remote to work.

Just a possibility, but have you tried new batteries in the remote?

And welcome by the way (BTW). Stick around - it's fun :)

cheers,
remote is working fine, the box just doesnt want to pick up the signal? Have tried to find a jerrold or general instruments web page to see if they have a way of re-setting the remote from inside the box, or a sequence of buttons on the remote, but i cant find anything anywhere.

:welcome: to the site.

Sometimes remotes lose their programs if left without batteries for a while. Try leaving the batteries out overnight to see if the remore returns to default settings. Energy saving lightbulbs nearby can affect IR controllers.

How do you know the remote is working fine if it doesn't work the box? Was your friend playing about with the STB or the remote?

There is a list of jerrold codes at http://www.remotecentral.com/features/r-rca.htm if the remote is programmable that may be worth a try.

Give customer services a call if you cannot get it working.

Press the menu button on the box. Somewhere in the menu there is actually an option to disable or re-enable the remote.
