the easiest way is to browse in internet explorer to:

ftp://username:password@upload.ntlworld.com

then just drag and drop the files. If you want one of them to appear when you browse to http://homepage.ntlworld.com/yourusername it will need to called index.htm or index.html.

You could download an FTP client and upload using that or upload using IE.

This link is to a page I made for college that explains how to set up an FTP client. http://www.kittysworld.co.uk/webhost/pageone.htm

There are lots of free FTP clients around

http://www.coreftp.com/

http://www.coffeecup.com/free-ftp/

To upload using IE by typing this
Quote:

ftp://upload.ntlworld.com/account name here

sorry to undermine you... but that won't work. It either needs to be:

ftp://username@upload.ntlworld.com/
or
ftp://username:password@upload.ntlworld.com/

when i used that ftp://username:password@etc.....i got "windows cannot acess.etc"...make sure you have permission or somethin like that.

is there like a bit on ntlworld.com

where you just attach the documents, and then they just loadload it to the site you were allocated?

When I copied that from NTLs own instruction pages it used to work as a box popped up asking for password. I havent used it for over 5 years as I now only use FTP only its quicker and more user friendly

Sorry if the information has become obsolete with NTL updating things.
:(

Using IE to upload your website

The easiest way to get your site uploaded without paying extra money for an FTP client is to use IE. You would typically enter a URL in the format of ftp://Username:Password@Host/directory/ into the address bar of your browser. It's then possible to drag and drop any files you want to upload into this window. If the username includes the '@' sign, this should be replaced by a '#' symbol instead. For example...

ftp://admin#insert-domain-name.co.uk...inwebsite_html

I would recomend an FTP client but if IE is the way you want to go that should help.
