http://support.microsoft.com is the best place to search.

there are certain sites available that list all codes......when working for ntl tech in cardiff we had around four very good website addresses for codes & description.

the MS Knowledge base isnt much use for quick look up.

Try a quick google for "windows error codes" it brings up over 2,700 pages. Should be one or two that would be useful to you.
