Proxy server in Bracknell area Hi, Is anyone aware of an issue with the proxy server in the Winnersh/reading/bracknell area? When I set my browser to automatically detect settings I cannot access any websites, but if I manually set the proxy it works.... Cheers |

Re: Proxy server in Bracknell area Hi Fred Smith :welcome: to the forum. afaik the 'automatically detect settings' isn't to do with the proxy setting - check out what Robin Walker says here - have you tried with the automatic detect disabled, but without specifying a proxy? - otherwise if setting an explicit proxy works, then go with that. :) |

Re: Proxy server in Bracknell area Over the last 4 days there have been several outages within the Winnersh area. It could be you are suffering from that. I know I am. Right now the connection is up and down more often than a whores drawers. Tech Support cant do anything either, aparantly while an outage is listed against the area they cant book an engineer callout. :-( |

That goes completely against the advice by Robin Walker and I believe NTL as well. |
