NTL and Ireland upgrades

Sorry if this has already been posted.

http://www.ntl.com/mediacentre/press/display.asp?id=719

ntl Ireland today announced a major investment in upgrading its cable network that will enable it to deliver broadband services to over 100,000 homes by the end of this year and to the rest of its network by the end of 2006.

How come broadband will be cheaper for them then!?

Exchange rates? Shift the Euro up a bit against the pound and it'll be more expensive. Ireland has historically been extremely expensive for DSL, so it's to undercut that too, presumably.

An interesting article that shows that NTL are spending money upgrading networks.

The question many people will ask is what is being done (and when) to upgrade parts of the NTL infrastructure in mainland Britain to a level that allows BB to customers there.
