It's summer! Start blending! (fruit smoothies!)

Anyone a big fan of blenders? I am. I typically blend everything except supper and fruit snacks. Try the following.

If its hot, and you want to cool down, blend

1 cup frozen bananas
1 cup frozen fruit of choice (strawberries and pineapple combination is my favorite)
1 cup apple juice

The bananas are there to make it thick and sweet.

If you want a drink, just blend whatever you want with water. For example, I just made:

5 kiwi
4 mangos
1/2 liter water [or ICE if you want]

It produces about 1.5 liters of liquid that is juice like, but a bit thicker. It tastes awesome.

Or, orange + grapefruit + apple + pineapple + peach

Does anyone have any good recipes? Any good combinations? It is summer and it is time to start consuming those fruit!!

Oh and, if you're looking for a good blender, try the Vitamix.

Ever since I got one of these babies, blending is a joy. In fact, you put certain fruits (most actually) into the blender with skin and seeds. The blender grinds it so fine that you won't taste it. It has a 2hp motor in there and the blades spin at 230 mph.

If you do frozen fruit, it blends so fast that it re-freezes when you scoop it out. Amazing tool.

For us metricated smoothiemaker-wannabees, one US cup is roughly 225ml. ;)

It really isn't that exact. :) You can put more in, or less.
