Please Help Me!
 

Hi everyone - just discovered this site and what a relief!

I really hope someone out there can help me - I've got this situation where I feel like I'm in a Franz Kafka novel - I just can't get through to anyone at NTL who will listen to me.

To keep it short, a few weeks ago I bought a flat in a block which is serviced by NTL under an agreement with the management committee of the block (the agreement was actually made with NTL predecessor Videotron). The service is analogue cable - as part of the deal Videotron made they agreed to provide the basic terrestrial channels for free on the basis that numerous flats would upgrade and get set-top boxes and pay for extra channels (as has happened).

I can not get anyone at NTL to accept responsibility for this agreement even though the management committee have passed me the paperwork which proves the deal took place.

I can't watch any TV as a result - I'm on the ground floor and can't get any reception at all.

Any ideas who I should contact or what I should do??

I'm at the end of my tether - i've spoken to about 6 different customer services people, none of whom will help me.

Any ideas most welcome

Hi guys - thanks ever so much for the quick and helpful replies. I live in west london - post code W11.

for various reasons the block i'm in does not have access to digital cable and nor can i use a normal aerial, so i'm completetly at the mercy of ntl. Help!

I thought I'd let you know i contacted David Thatcher and so far he;s been very helpful,. i'll keep you updated on my progress.

By the way - as to the novel title - my user name is in honour of "the effeminate futurists" (as alan partridge would say), Japan!

Try asking your neibours for advise as their accounts could be useful if they have moved over from videotron to ntl.
