Homo-erotic imagery or nuclear war?

I went to visit my family the other day, and my younger brother was flipping through the music channels.
At one point he stopped on 'Kerrang!' just as 'Gay Bar' by Electric 6 was starting.
This is the one with them dressed up as Abraham Lincoln, in various homosexual situations, with various sexual imagery - such as stroking the handle of the hammer...

Personally I find the video quite funny - but can see why some people might not be too keen on it, and even why some music channels would not play it.
However Kerrang! did censor part of it. (and this really got me confused)
They didn't censor the video as such, they blanked out the parts of the song where he makes a reference to war. i.e. 'Lets start a war, a nuclear war' with 'war' and 'nuclear war' being blanked out.

Does this strike anyone else as a tad silly?

on some other music channels (i think it is scuzz but dont hold me to it) the items that are being "stroked" are censored out as well....

all very random and pointless if you asked me...

That DOES sound a bit ass-backwards (pardon the pun!).

I can understand someone finding the homosexual references to be offensive but a nuclear war? Will Sky censor Terminator 3 when it comes on for the same reason? It features a gay stripper and a nuclear war, let's see how they play that one :D

I thought it might get people to read it :) - seems like it worked then

I assume that all stations have their own rules when it comes to censorship, it just seems strange that you can have such variation across the channels, with some going for almost draconian censorship, whilst others seem to go by the 'Its tuesday - lets censor a random work' rule...

Well the title made me have a look. :D

Must agree with earlier posts. Boggles the mind that someone would stop us hearing the words 'War' and 'Nuclear War'. But hey it's a crazy world.lol

Then again Kerrang pulled the visual censorship crap on Metallica's Whiskey In The Jar video. And it's full of lezzers. :D
