Connectivity Issues at specific times each day

Has anyone experienced issues with their connection only at certain times of day? I seem to be experiencing issues between 3:30pm and 4:30pm where i suddenly get high pings and intermittent loss of connectivity.

I tried rebooting the model during this time, however it took three attempts for it to finally work again, even though the modem lights were showing as connected.

I think I've had difficulty explaining this to VM support, so wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar?

It may be related to being upgraded to the 500Mbit tier as i never had these issues on the 350 tier

You have got little red spikes all the way along the top of your graph. Have you had a look at your power levels to see if there are any issues with a particular channel?

Lot of errors on channels 2-4. 41k post RS errors will certainly b0rk anyone's day.

Can mean a damaged cable/dodgy termination. Check all of your cables are connected properly and the outside box is still secure with no water in it or rusty bits. It's most likely an issue on the VM side of the local network (a cable break or a flooded pit) but definitely worth checking what you can.

yup. Unfortunately this is going to be an annoying fault because the majority of people aren't going to pick up on it and this kind of thing only gets dealt with if enough people ring up about it. The down time in the afternoon only lasts a few mins so the chances of you getting through to VM while it is down so they can see it is down is slim as well. If I were you (and you can look at the previous day's graphs) if you know it goes offline at a certain time every afternoon I would be at the ready to give tech support a ring, they can run their tests and see the shub is offline and send a tech out. You won't get anywhere if you try explaining to India that channels 2 and 3 have a high level of post-rs errors which are causing intermittent packet loss. If you can get a tech out you can show him the stats, your graphs and also run a few pings to show him the packet loss.

Re: Connectivity Issues at specific times each day

Run the online diagnostic when it's happening. Use your mobile. It will sometimes identify the issue and then allow you to book an engineer. But because VM are idjits you can only test your line 3 times a day, so don't be surprised if it just says no fault found.

Failing that, post on the community forums what you've posted here. The VM moderators there are generally clued up and will spot the obvious errors and arrange an engineer.
