Story of a tragic life
I dont know if this is the correct place, but some of you will know recently I suffered the loss of my cousin, Emma.
The local paper has done a small story on her fight against cancer and was published in this evenings paper. http://icteesside.icnetwork.co.uk/ "the amazing life of Emma" For the online version. I would liek to thank the people here that have sent their condolences to me and my family. Quote:
if anyone can show me how to link directly to the story I would be gratefull. |
My condolences go out to you on this difficult time for you.
enjoy your memories. lynx2oo2 http://icteesside.icnetwork.co.uk/01...l&siteid=50080 |
Having lost no less than four members of family to cancer, all I can do is offer my heartfelt empathy and sympathy to you and your family. :( xx

As before, my thoughts are with you and your family during this time.
May she live long in your memories, and they be tresured for a lifetime. |
Thank you for sharing your Emma with us Timewarrior..... she is a true inspiration and will live on in the memories of all those who have read her story, especially me.....
Thank you for helping to make my world a better place. |
My thoughts are with you & your family.
I found the story both incredibly sad and incredibly inspiring - I hope you can celebrate her life as she wished. Thankyou for sharing that & putting our petty problems into perspective. It is such a shame that Emma's courage couldn't have attained a better reward - but I hope her example will live on & inspire others to be more appreciative of their lives. |
There is really nothing that can be said at a time like this timewarrior2001, I just would hope that we could all be as brave as your cousin when faced with such circumstances.
When I hear of similar stories of people that died young I am always amazed by their strengh and am reminded of someone that said "A star that burns twice as bright will only burn for half as long" |
you know, the last few lines make the most impact for me.
Living through this, and seeing Emma deal with it was traumatic for me, but Emma organised her own funeral, she picker her own coffin and asked to be buried close to our grandad. all that from a 21 year old. On the 18 July, it was a pleasure for her to be at my engagment party, and now 7 weeks or so later she is gone from our lives. I was in her flat today, helping sort through her things, and you know, I could feel her there. I am sure she's still around, looking out for her family, that was the kind of person she was. Goodnight Emma, we will all miss you |
I'm really sorry to hear about your cousin. I know I said that in the other thread, but it is worth saying again.
I have lost two members of my family to cancer, and it is not easy. One thing I will say is something a friend told me when a relative died of cancer. I can't remember the exact words, but basically, although you will never forget your cousin, the grief you are feeling now will reduce so you can live with it. Then, you will remember the good times. |
