Make way for the Queen's Guard (or be shoved)

Saw this today.... Tourist was on the wrong side of the line so the Queen's guard pushed her quite forcefully.

Seen lots of folks say she was in wrong and should not have been there.

What do others think... ?

Good. It's clear she shouldn't have been there. You don't mess with the Queens Guard. Maybe that needs to be made more clear as tourists don't always seem to get it.

Ha ha. She was clearly the wrong side of the rope. Fair play.

Most certainly she should have not been there.

Doing his job surely, he's a guard. Surely he isn't just there to wear the stupid hat ( must be nice in this weather !)

Quite right.

You could probably forgive standing on the wrong side of the barrier but it's also the fact she is standing right in his way too. Are you expecting the Guard to make way for you? Such a level of entitlement.

There are lots of similar videos on youtube/facebook.

These are soldiers, on duty, and need to be shown respect. To be fair they usually give a big a shout if some one's in the way. But a big shove works just as well!

Apparenty when they point their rifle at you, that's like a final warning

The guns aren't typically loaded

There has been instances of this for years. They are soldiers on guard duty and should not be interupted in any way.

People are stupid to mock them or try and get in their way.

Is this genuine? There are plenty of fakes that have fooled people when it's just a bloke dressed up as a guard :erm:

I think people get lost in all the ceremony, pomp and circumstance and forget that the guard is there to do a job. It is there to protect the Queen's residence, and the Queen or any members of the Royal family that happen to be present. She shouldn't have got in the way.
