Dangerous for them to make such increases. The support forum is already full of people trying to downgrade/cancel at current prices.

Paying fuel bills will be rather priority for most. Hundreds of unwatched Tv channels and unnecessarily fast broadband might be the thing to cut back on.

when I negotiated my new deal they said the price would not rise in its term. If it does I will just negotiate again. No way am I paying 20%+ more

Paying more for slower broadband might actually be in operators interests.
