Will never work. Why do they keep doing reboots of these shows? Never be the same as the original.

Is nothing sacred ? Make something new with new writers.

You'd have thought they'd learned with the Open All Hours revival, mind you the original of that was rubbish.

Actually l thought Still Open All Hours was pretty good personally but that's only my humble opinion Sir.

The BBC have cancelled the reboot after just one series.

Not surprised as it was not a patch on the original series.

They just don't seem able to do sit coms any longer. Dad's Army, Steptoe, Porridge, Fawlty Towers - repeats of those are far better than anything made now. Maybe they were of their time, can never be replicated, and we shouldn't try.
See John Cleese is doing a new sitcom, it's crap, he knows it is, but his ex wives have stitched him up so he needs the money... Fair enough I guess.

They are probably afraid that anything actually funny is probably going to be labelled "offensive" by someone. :erm:

Didn't they try a pilot reboot ? It was appalling, very much like the original in fact ... Only so many jokes you can do about Mrs Slocombe's pussy !

Shame. I enjoyed it..and frankly there is no other present sitcom that I would watch anyway. The sitcom seems to have died.

I agree, it is getting ridiculous. Forget trying to be funny, nobody can make a statement about anything these days without one person out of thousands being an absolute **** and twisting some phrase or meaning and saying they are offended by it.
