Any VW Touareg /Merc ML350 owners?

SWMBO has decided it's time for a new car.

Narrowed it down to these two but would like to hear peoples experiences if they own either?
The Merc is in Merc ML350 in AMG trim level with command online

The Touraeg is altitude spec, but has some extras, memory seats, heated steering wheel bi xenons.

Both have full service main dealer service histories etc. both approx the same money...

Better to buy second hand than buy a new one so yes, these could be the "greener" choice.

Out of the two I would be more likely to go with the VW over the Merc.

Can i get your thoughts on why?

I know the VW is based on the cayenne chassis and offers 'sportier' handling. But that's not really a deciding factor.

I have known a number of people who own various Merc's within the last few years from new all having various issues and the build quality inside hasn't been brilliant. My boss has had his rebuilt inside twice due to various issues.

Also I think you get more for you money with a VW compared to Merc.
