Hello dues how are ya??

Im wondering do any of you know if they make a LEMON ICE TEA mix in your country that DOES NOT HAVE CARAMEL COLOUR in it??

It makes it taste worse and its not needed. The tea gets it colour from the RED 40!!

I used to love Lipton iced tea and when I started drinking it,IT DID NOT HAVE CARAMEL COLOURING and was delicious!!!!!

Heres a copy of thier page from 2004 and they still didnt use it

http://web.archive.org/web/200410241...weet_lemon.asp

Now ya cant find it w/o that crap and its sickening!!!!! (Well yes lipton doesnt have it NOW but they changed thier recipe to an "All natural" one and it tastes like crap -- Im talking about traditional ingredients)

Quote:

Sugar, citric acid (provides tartness), instant tea, silicon dioxide (prevents caking), natural lemon flavor, artificial color (red#40).
4C uses the tradiitional ingredients listed above but they add CARAMEL COLOUR which I have no idea why!!! -- I emailed them and they replied back saying they would consider removing it.... I JUST HOPE THEY DONT DO WHAT LIPTON DID CAUSE I WONT DRINK IT!! (Its disgusting)

Any ICED TEA mix made thier w/o caramel colouring added?? (It does affect the taste a little)

Muchos Gracious :)

Re: Iced tea

It's only a colouring. It shouldn't change the taste.

A simple Google states that red 40 as well as a few other artifical colours are banned in the UK and Europe.

Hmmm well it does I can taste it in there.....

Hmmmmmmm ... I can taste the slight caramel taste........

I dunno.........

Re: Iced tea

Well if it was over 20 years ago how can you be sure it tasted as good?

I think you are imagining the caramel taste. Uts purely a colouring.

Artificial colourings are bad anyway.it is commonly known as allura Red or E129. Which along with a number of other 'E' numbers are banned in the UK.

Wasn't there a big fuss about red smarties at one time?

Love Iced Tea although it does have a lot of sugar!

The Peach version is my favourite.

Indeed. Also blue smarties. That's why there are no artificial colourings used in them anymore. There was talk of it making kids hyper or affecting people with ADHD more.

I feel the biggest issue is the crap like Xylitol & Sorbitol.

There are artificial sweeteners than can have a laxative effect, I used to like this, but daren't risk it.

Basically, any fake sugar that ends on "OL" can cause issues.

Years ago there were reviews on the Sugar Free Gummy Bears on the Amazon US site, that are funny but horrific and too graphic to say here.

But a safeish on was 6 GBs = Anal napalm

Dude111 10-07-2021 21:49

Well aspartame and Sucralose dont end in OS and they are the worst out there!! (I avoid em like crazy)
