That's terrible, he had such a great year, getting his team back into the football league and looked so fit himself. Hopefully it wasn't stress of the job.

These things can happen so quickly as just 2 days before he was in Madrid for the final.

The stresses of being a football manager are quite considerable Mr K given he is not the first manager to be affected by serious and potentially fatal heart problems.

Constant feed of information that sadly won't stop is that the Bin Zayed Group aren't all that bothered about whether Benitez stays or goes as they look to set up talks with Mourinho.

Benitez should at least get a roll of the dice.

Has anyone asked Benitez if he wants to stay under the new ownership?

Probably a few clubs out there that would take him . . unless it's all about the money

Benetiz is a fine manager and there will be plenty of takers out there who will want to employ his services.

He's thought to have turned down offers from Lyon/Roma and other clubs before the takeover became public.

What does Mourinho bring right now that Benitez doesn't. Huge name attraction for the benefit of signings you can't actually make because of FFP? Or allowing Benitez to spend what's on offer on his first targets not the fourth players on his list. The latter is the more viable option. Building the club over the next few years instead of trying to dive in and dodge FFP.

Suggestions Benitez may not want to remain in charge may prove to be true. In fact his first battle was ensuring he didn't get Wise'd on transfers and that all incomings were his choice. Having that taken away so these guys can go spend crazy will undo this.

The media are loving it regardless.

In more positive news. Sean Longstaff snubbed any idea of him moving to Man United.

Sorry l meant the England vs Switzerland match where Englands second goal scored by Callum Wilson was ruled out by VAR for a shirt-pull.

Its still a football match Mr K and to say the players were not interested is rather insulting to them IMO.

Some certainly will find it funny but some will obviously see it as something else as we well know.
