Router setup/config?
Sorry for what may seem a stupid question.:dunce:
Do you need to connect a new wireless router via ethernet cable to PC to perform setup/configuration of router or can it be done wirelessly ( that last word looks rather inelegant):) Jim. |

Usually to first setup the wireless networking configuration i.e. network name, security passwords etc, you need to log into the router. If you haven't got a wireless network configured yet that can be a bit tricky. It's usually simplest to briefly connect to a new router wired before switching to wireless.

Some routers though do have the default wifi password key on a sticker on the device.
As long as you can get a local IP on the same subnet as the router and abide by security requirements then you can configure it. |

I do have a decent spare ethernet cable so will go down that route.:cool: Jim. |
