All I'm saying is that it is an option which would counter Sky's hype about 'exclusive integration' which to my mind is of marginal benefit to the viewer. |

Why would you say Virgin would not top up our fees with the same contribution? It would be a good selling point for Virgin, whereas Hayu was of limited value. |

It still appears you were asking for a credit for something you weren’t paying extra for... |

Even my wife, who likes programming from TLC and Quest Red, gave this a wide berth. ---------- Post added at 13:05 ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 ---------- Quote:
Hayu was provided to top end Virgin Media viewers 'at no extra cost'. However, Virgin must have paid Hayu for their streamer, and where the money came from doesn't matter. All I am saying is that if Virgin could do this for Hayu, surely they must be able to do it for Disney+. They could either provide Disney to VM viewers on the top package for no extra charge, or they could provide it on a subsidised basis. It would pay for itself, surely, with the extra subscribers that would attract. If Sky can discount Netflix by pairing it with Sky Box Sets and taking money off, so can Virgin come to an arrangement that suits its operation. |

It's similar to the same argument that BT Sports isn't free to Full House customers. |

Or maybe VM might consider bundling all the streamers and offering a discount on that to the value of the Hayu cost. Both Sky and VM are able to offer multiple TV channels at a discount so the same should be happening for a bouquet of streamers. Surely, this would generate more VM subscribers taking the full package, so it would be worth doing this. ---------- Post added at 13:59 ---------- Previous post was at 13:55 ---------- Quote:
As for Comcast owning Sky and Hayu, that would certainly make perfect sense. On the second post, I think the beer is more likely at this time! :D Or maybe Corona lager... |
