At least 12 people were killed and several injured on Friday in a mass shooting at a government building in the US state of Virginia.

The suspect, described by officials as a disgruntled city employee in Virginia Beach, fired indiscriminately in a municipal building.

The gunman was killed in an exchange of gunfire with police. His identity has not been released.
Thoughts and prayers won't ease anyone's pain and suffering.:(

And still the gun lobby will say that it is the thin end of the wedge to ban guns in the US.

It will be good to see sanity return to the US, but I am beginning to think that this will not be achieved in my lifetime.

All I can see happen is that every citizen in the US will wear a side arm. Jeeeze.

Yeah they said that about the cinema shooting, if everyone was armed there they could've stopped him before he killed so many, I mean what could possibly go wrong with dozens of poorly trained, panicked people blasting away in the dark

I think there is a problem with people that can't differentiate between computer/console games and real life. As well as gun control, they need to look at some of the more violent shoot everyone 'games'. Neither will happen if course.

Don't agree with this at all, If you're going to go down this route then you should be looking at paintballing, airsoft, lazer-tag as a priority.

Then there's violent films, etc the list is endless.

The facts are that regardless of any above there are some screwed up people in the world.

Chris Rock had it right with having bullet control mind you....
