I find it confusing that they are reusing movie titles :

Skyfall - Not that much of a Bond fan, I expected it to be a lot more exciting. Although it was good to see Albert Finney, who, coincidental was born in my home town of Salford.

Skyfall... The best Bond film of all time? Hell no.............

I want Bond to be fighting meglomaniac villians who are intent on taking over the world, either by launching a nuclear missile at a city thus starting WW3, or using a laser from space to destroy islands.

Where were the gadgets, where were the fast cars??? This wasn't James Bond, this was some action film in the vein of Taken. It was average at best.

5 out of 10 from me.

The Sweeney - 8/10

Pretty impressed at Plan B's performance, not bad for an uber-chav. At times it's hard to understand what Ray Winstone is saying as he overdoes the the 'cockney growl' a bit and it has plenty of stereotypical London cop-isms such as "You slaaaaaag", "shaht up" etc but on the whole one of the best British films I've seen in a while.

Just finished watching Cloud Atlas. It's the best film I've seen in years... Jim Broadbent was great.

Whilst I share your views and was a fan of the gadgets right in your face action and supercar's, I have embraced the Daniel Craig darker side of Bond too. I thought Skyfall was brilliant.

Latest watch for me:

Seven Psychopaths: 9/10, surprisingly good. A must watch and probably one of the best movie's I've seen.

This is one of my all time faves... Everyone who has seen it so far has said it's brilliant.

I didn't expect the ending either, and the final scenes were brilliantly done.

Yes its always good when some films live up to the reviews as some films are hyped up so much and then when you watch them they sometimes disappoint.

Django is a different film. Tarantino's is Django Unchained ;)

Anyway. I loved it. Also found it consistently good, rather than very slow in parts (Pulp Fiction) or just slow all round (Kill Bill Part 2).

Re: Rate the last movie you saw

Skyfall (sorry, Skyfawwwwww, when it crumbuwwwwwwws)

9/10 - easily one of the best Bonds ever. Felt more like a reboot really with old regulars moving on and new people brought in. I liked how they made 007 seem almost human for once (getting shot and very nearly getting killed) although the stunt he did after taking a bullet while controlling the crane (landing in a train on his feet, tidying his jacket and walking on) kind of spoilt it for me a bit.

I hope it's not his last as has been suggested because it did feel like a new beginning.

Oh and an awful (or should that be awfuwwww) soundtrack.

Digital remastering doesn't mean they have messed with the film, but reather cleaned it up and got it back t looking how it originally did.

There is no way I could sit and watch a VHS now after so many years of DVD and currently Blu Ray. Heck I still own a Laserdisc player though, now that was a great format :)

Casino royale was much better. Not seen Quantum Of Solace so can't comment there. Skyfall, however just felt like it had no substance to it. A bit of the old knees-bent running-around crap. And that was it. The baddy was awful. How he managed to get so many people working for him to fulfill a personal vendetta I'll never know. Yeah. Bit of a crappy film to be honest.

I hope you are not disappointed. Nothing worse than being a fan of something like a film franchise or music artist and eagerly awaiting then next release, only to be really disappointed. Obviously, a lot of people do like Skyfall. But for me, compared to other films out there, it just didn't hit any marks.

Tired plot.
Hardly any Batman.
Too many English people trying to pass themselves off as Americans.

I didn't mind it but I prefer them in the order of release so my least favourite of the 3. The thing that kind of ruined it for me that how quickly Bane was killed and dealt with. It just all felt a bit flat after that one [quick] scene.

Oz the great and powerful 8/10. Really enjoyable and Raimi has done a fantastic job of creating a believable Oz and characters that you know will become those from the 1939 movie.

Rather than making a new thread I might as well put it here....

Compliance (2012). -/10

I've seen a lot of films and I don't normally react to anything I watch but this film really annoyed the hell out of me. So much I had to FFWD parts of it which is a first for me as I knew what was coming, but was so annoyed at the stupidity that I couldn't watch it.

Could this only happen in the US, as I can not see it happening anywhere else.

Wreck-it ralph.

7/10. TBH, I dismissed it when I first heard about it as just another cutesy cartoon, but while it has the obvious Disney moments where it's a very over emotional, it has enough enjoyable moments, and enough references to arcade games from the 80s and 90s to make it very enjoyable for a long term arcade game geek like me..

Oblivion - 6/10.

Wall-E meets the Matrix meets War of the Worlds meets Moon. ;)

I enjoyed it.

I'm about to sit and watch piranha 3dd that I taped off the sky box last night as Natalie is away. I hope there's some nice cleavage in it :)

Iron Man 3

Loved it :D

IMO...Better than Iron Man 1 & 2, but not quite as good as The Avengers.

The Avengers > Iron Man 3 > Iron Man 1 > other MCU films.

Great fun, great action, and also bloody hilarious in places.

RDJ is awesome as always, while Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley are both excellent. It was good too to see Pearce have a decent sized role again.

Make sure you stay for the obligatory post-credits scene!

9.5/10

Hoping to see it tomorrow in 3D/IMAX.

I thought Ironman 1 was way better than 2, but felt a bit let down with the Avengers. Really looking forward to this one though.

I enjoyed Iron Man 2, but I don't think it was anywhere near as good as the first.

Iron Man 3 9/10

Outstandingly brilliant. I think the new director has brought a lot to the third movie and the humor has been increased a lot. Ben Kingsley was fab and had me in stitches.

Way better than IM2 for sure.

Post credit scene was well worth staying for very funny and unexpected too. Well I knew there was one as usual but didn't expect who was in it.

I thought the 3D was ok even though it was only a post conversion. D-Box at Cineworld also added a whole new dimension to the film. Feeling every bump and gunshot and movement when Tony was flying
