The Blues Brothers
Bloody classic. 10/10. Best soundtrack ever, & one of the best car-chases ever. The ultimate musical-comedy. |

10/10 Beautiful yet disturbing movie. |

Yes, blu-ray directors cut, 10 mins longer (spicy/raunchy scenes)
|

Iron Monkey
A very young looking Donnie Yen, great fight scenes, terrible english dubbing, gotta love it :D 8/10 |

Not the sort of movie you'd want a dub on anyway. Still well worth the watch. P.S If you intend on watching it, make sure you dont get the US Version as it's heavily cut. ---------- Post added at 20:21 ---------- Previous post was at 20:08 ---------- An another one. Shadowless Sword (Korean) (German Blu-Ray) 7/10 Got a high rating just for the fight scenes, storyline felt abit silly at times but i guess that was the intention, the "johnny depp" pirate windup scene had me in hysterics. P.S Dont buy german blu-rays, the quality is serious lacking on all german releases, no english subtitles either, so it was a good thing i know korean. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Not a new one by any means, but Bravo Two Zero (after reading the book, which I read after reading Sniper One..).
Absolute pants. Probably one of the worst films I've ever seen. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
In The Line Of Duty 4
7/10 Another classic donnie yen! with another silly english dub, great fight/action scenes, interesting storyline, great characters. :D |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Kautokeino-opprøret (blu-ray)
if i was giving it a score just for scenery purposes it would be an instant 10/10 6/10 For the movie itself, quite interesting and made me think but parts of the story felt a little rushed and out of place at times. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Taken. I liked this one. Liam Neeson does a great job. 8/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Yeah, I saw that a few weeks ago - was surprised at how good an action hero Liam Neeson made in it.
The Incredible Hulk (BD) 8/10 I think Iron Man tops it for "Best Marvel Movie of 2008", but it was still very good & much better than I expected. Also a few nice nods... The purple trousers Betty buys Bruce Letter to "David B." Lou Ferrigno as the voice of the Hulk! -- "Don't make me... hungry. You won't like it when I'm hungry!" -- - "Any last words?" - "HULK SMASH!!!!!!!!" |

Anyway much better than the 2003(?) version of the hulk. 6/10 from me. Danny The Dog 5/10 Was laughable at times, but watchable. CJ7 8/10 Funny, great family movie. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Death Race - 8/10
Plenty of action, I really liked it |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
The Man Who Fell to Earth - 5/10
Pros - boobs. Cons - dragged on a bit, weird & a bit confusing, & a bit depressing. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Tiger On The Beat
9/10 Great Chow-Yun-Fat movie, prefer this over lethap weapon anyday! |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
2 films from me.
Mirrors Keither Sutherland stars in this supernatural\horror flick that that culminates in an ending that could see a sequel. There were some moments where my wife jumped and a plot\story that flowed really well. Sutherland is still that single emotion actor in varying degrees of loudness (that he uses so well in 24) plays an ex cop who gets a job as a security guard at an old shop where the mirrors hold a deadly entity. Worth watching :tu: 8/10 The Midnight Meat Train Vinnie Jones plays a butcher in this film, pretty fast paced, good flow and excellent special effects (if a little far fetched at times) Dont expect a lot of dialogue from Vinnie (2 words in the whole film) but his acting skills are coming along nicely. I didnt recognise Brooke Sheilds who played the lead female until the end titles rolled. Lots of blood and gore, based on a short story from Clive Barker. Worth watching :tu: 7/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
mutant chronicles , not bad it passed the night .

re: Rate the last movie you saw
Just watched V for Vendetta again, for the... 3rd time I think. Still a good movie. 8/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Quantum Of Solace 8/10 short for a Bond film good stunts good action, nice and gritty
|

Wanted - 7/10 - I quite liked it although it's a little far fetched :D

I just watched Star Wars : The Clone Wars with Peter.
He loved it, I was just thinking it was ok.... |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
James Bond: Quantum of Solace.
Crap storyline, me neither my friends understood it. Good action scenes but use too much "shaky" effect. Quite short. Wouldn't bother watching again, Batman is still film of the year for me. Casino Royale was brilliant = 9/10 Quantum of Solace = 5/10. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Quantum of Solace 4/10
Story was terrible, shaky cam did get really annoying and also it appeared to be really badly edited! There was so many moments where the scenes skipped to somewhere else without finishing what was taking place previously. Action scenes were good though. Also the theme song is poor which matches the film perfectly! |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Watched Iron Man last night - worth it just for Gwyneth Paltrow :)
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
I just watched wall-e with my boy.... I loved it and he liked it so much he just asked me to watch it again. The first filme he's asked me to do that so it must get his vote :)
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Well I enjoyed Quantum of Solace..It passed a crappy rainy Saturday nicely.I never noticed any poor editing and as for shaky cam well what do you expect in an action film?:)
The only thing I didn't like was the theme tune..that was totally boring, banal and unremarkable and mostly it will be the most unmemorable Bond theme of all time. |

|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Iron Man - 8/10 - A liitle slow to start but it makes up for it later. It gets an extra point for having Suicidal Tendencies in the soundtrack. :D
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Righteous Kill 8 of 10 with Robert Deniro and Al Pacino well worth seeing.
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Recount
Dramatisation of the Florida 2000 recount, shown on C4 last night. Very well made, with a great cast (Kevin Spacey, John Hurt, & more). |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Quantum of Solace 7/10 not bad more on the lines of the Bourne trilogy than any previous Bond movie, also for a change not reliant on gadgets or gimmicks.
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
I saw Quantum of Solace today and I really enjoyed it. 9/10. I agree that it was done in a similar style to Bourne, especially the rooftop chase and the knife fight. No wacky gadgets was good as well.

It would be interesting to see what people's reactions would be to the two new films, if Casino Royale was the very first Bond film made and it didn't have all the expectations that it had. What I mean is that Bond has a set checklist of what to expect and fans may feel let down because certain things were not done, whereas if the list were not there because, they may have loved the film. The film in itself, taken on it's own may be good, but because it didn't follow the franchise rules... Who knows? That is just my opinion. |

Another issue I have with it is that the version of Bond played by whatshisface seems more like a slightly more refined/polished "Vinnie Jones" than a "James Bond". Bond's supposed to be classy, & to me whatshisface just didn't really manage it. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
what destroyed Diet Another Day was the awful CGI and very averageness of the film in terms of production quality.

Kes (1969) directed by Ken Loach
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064541/ I last saw this years ago on TV when I was a child. I remember it was striking that I recently bought the DVD to look again. It's about a scrawny lad growing up in Barnsley where everyone is trying to put him down. He finds solace in training a young kestrel that he has stolen from a nest. There's some great scenes of him training the bird to a lure. David Bradley who plays the boy, Billy, gives a tremendous performance that outshines everyone else - including Colin Welland who plays the sympathetic teacher and Brian Glover, the sadistic games master. (Several scenes of boys in showers - weren't they all skinny then!). The dialogue is very 'Bratford' so you'll need a keen ear to hear it all and the style is very TV orientated (not suprising since Ken Loach cut his teeth on Z-Cars). It's very dated but, IMHO, still a classic piece that is well worth watching. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw V - 6.5/10
Missus and I like all the Saw films. this one is ok if you like the others and want a continuation of the Saw story. If you didn't like/haven't seen the other don't bother, as you won't like it/won't understand it. it's more about the ppl, than the traps in this one, but it's still more or less more of the same. |

Oldboy
10/10 Just...WOW...:D |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Let's see.....last films I saw.....
Wanted: Utter tosh, worth it just for Angelina Jolie, but that's about it - 5/10 Iron Man: Not bad, Gwyneth Paltrow was easy on the eye, easy watching and some good action - 7/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Heh am going to see Wanted later :D
Indiana Jones - 8 out of 10. I liked it although some parts naturally were silly, like 60+ year old Indy gets punched, kicked and beaten by a man half his age, a foot taller and about 5 stone heavier yet he still manages to get up  |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Hot Nurses Vol 2

Tropic Thunder, after a long wait to see it I thought it was pants

re: Rate the last movie you saw
Just saw Wanted. 7 out of 10 for the film (it lost a point for the twist you could see a mile off) but 10 out of 10 for the butt-shot of Angelina Jolie.
It has to be said though she's looking really skinny these days, I much preferred her curviness in Lara Croft. |

- hmm, tears of happiness during a cartoon - only nearly  - a brilliant example of how animation can make a 'character' - and I don't mean only Wall-E - the parasol that kept inverting should be careful of being type cast, though ;) 8/10 |

Body of Lies. 6/10. Crowe and the king of the world hamming up some political intrigue for the elder brother Scott. Enjoyable yet instantly forgettable.
Sweeny Todd. Undecided. Bought the dvd and enjoyed the special features more than the feature. Too much singing of songs that are funny but not very good. Great visuals, however. |

Just watched The Transporter. Don't know why I hadn't bothered to watch it before now, not sure what had put me off, but glad I watched it in the end. Quite enjoyable: funky soundtrack, plenty of great action, & of course a CAB [cute asian babe :naughty:].

Quantum of Solace 8/10 I don't think it's as good as Casino Royale (although it is faster paced & doesn't have CR's slow bits), but I still very much enjoyed it. Daniel Craig *is* Bond. ---------- Post added at 00:58 ---------- Previous post was at 00:35 ---------- Quote:

I actually thought Timothy Dalton was a very good Bond (and pretty much underated as Bond), but I do like Daniel Craig. I prefer the way the bond films are going now, there's more seriousness to it, the fight scenes a bit more gritty.
The only question I have is, who would win in a fight. Bond or Bourne? |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
They would both be equally trained so it would be a good match. From what ive seen from the movies Bourne has more technical expertise and uses a lot more locks breaks and grappling than Bond. It would be a very interesting fight. ;)
Jet Li would do both of em lol |
