re: Rate the last movie you saw
I would like to know what people make of the last few Bond films - I'm just so excited that Chris Cornell is doing the theme song
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5220262.stm :D I think the last bond film I saw was the living daylights, all bond films look the same to me! |

Oh, and you're spot-on about Kate Bosworth... she does a good job, but it's not quite there in comparison to Kidder (but at least she's better at Lois Lane than Teri Hatcher was ;) ) |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw PotC yesterday. Not as good as I was hoping - maybe because it's mainly more of the same. Still entertaining, just not as fresh as the original.
(Jules - you didn't miss much at the end - PM if you really want to know!) 7/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw Miami Vice today. Not the best movie going, but a good popcorn movie :)
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
V for Vendetta
Got this one out on DVD, bloody good movie - really enjoyed it and its weirdly relevant. Totally different to what i expected. Wallace and Grommit - Curse of the Ware Rabbit What more is there to say - class animation. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Watched Poseidon last night...
Not bad, not the worst film in the world by a long stretch. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
I saw V for Vendetta last week. Thought that it was good up until the end. The ending was bad. It was like they had run out of time and had to end it there and then.

re: Rate the last movie you saw
I did wonder how he managed to get hundreds of thousands of suits made up without anyone noticing. ;)
But hey, its a movie, its American and they dont tend to think we will spot these things. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
saw my super ex girlfriend on saturday night. Very good movie, much better than I was expecting, Eddie Izzard made for a fantastic nemesis though he wasnt quite as evil as I had hoped. Though to be honest the lack of evil just made him even funnier as a super villan.
It wont win any awards for plot line but it was very entertaining and very funny with some well written gags, I would rate it 8/10. I was tempted to give it 10/10 because its been a while since I have walked out of the cinema actually feeling like I have been entertained rather than just occupied but the plot let it down just enough I think to justify 8/10 instead. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Thoroughly enjoyed V, thought it was an excellent modernisation of the comic, and the setup which brought Norsefire to power, is much more plausible than the UK being missed during WW3 because of a 1983 Labour win and the resultant expulsion of the US nuclear deterant.
After all, how many Sun readers believe that ID cards are a good thing because they'll make us safe? |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
World Trade Centre - I thought this was a fantastic movie. Really well made as it was written by the actual people it is about. Not a dry eye left in the cinema after either.
Definate go see movie. 8/10 Was in Florida last week so went to see it. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Mr & Mrs Smith - was on over the weekend, and never thought about it much - quite enjoyed it though, some good gags, fairly funny but never too serious - 7/10
My Super Ex Girlfriend - nothing fancy and fairly funny - 7/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Watched Pirates of the Carribbean 2 over the weekend... it's better than the 1st one, a lot less Disney-like than I was expecting, with a plot that seems to change direction a lot (not sure many of the kids in the audience understood the plot but they all seemed to enjoy the film nonetheless). Overall, I'd give it 7/10, which is much higher than I anticipated it'd be.

Broken Flowers with Bill Murray on DVD
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant!!!! :tu: Class ending too :D But if you didnt like Lost in Translation avoid this one... |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Talledega Nights
funny but ridiculous at times. 6/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Starship Troopers 2 - Was actually much better than I was expecting, about as good as the original 5/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Ella Enchanted (don't even ask why!)
Sucks only people who will like this are teens :td: |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
A couple of good trailers (IMHO) if you like kickass action movies
The Protector http://www.apple.com/trailers/weinst...tor/trailer1r/ starring Tony Jaa from"Ong Bak" and Crank (Jason Statham - think "Transporter" on speed) http://www.uip.co.uk/trailers.asp?ChosenTrailer=crank |

Watched The Sentinel yesterday... 7/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Watched "the Wicker Man" tonight, it's a pretty good film really, it's got it's fair share of plot twists and the storyline is gripping. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it :)

Crank, starring Jason Statham - think of all the fight and chase scenes in Transporter, and only have those in the film (with some gratuitous sex scenes, and that's it!
A good fun film. |

Basic Instinct 2 (dvd)
Not as good as the first one (obviously) but then the first one was a classic. Oh and Sharon Stone still looks great. :naughty:  Not a bad film though, but does lack the suspense of the original. 6/10 :) (changed my mind on the score, initially, I gave it an extra point for getting Stan Collymore killed off in the first 5 minutes :D ) |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Final Destination 3 (dvd)
The deaths continue to get just as inventive, as with the previous 2 films. I do think though, maybe it's time the producers called it a day. The initial idea, in the first film, was very clever and very well done. Now though, it's getting a little repetitive, and stale. However, it is well worth a watch, and I did enjoy it. 7/10 :tu: |

I liked final destination as well :tu:

Jeepers Creepers came on Channel 4 two days ago, missed the sequel yesterday (like I give a toss) Not a perfect film since it's a teen horror and most parts- it's predictable but yet pretty enjoyable.
Out of 10 I'll give this a good 7 |

7/10. Silent Hill, i watched this 2 days ago, man this was a great film with the odd plot twist or three, it was predictable at times, but basically great. Having enver p[layed the game (or even knowing if they are associated) i got into the story straight away, and it scared me poop-less at some points! The little girl played the part really well. Nice film to see, 8.5/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Mr & Mrs Smith - good mindless fun :)

re: Rate the last movie you saw
The Pink Panther
Steve Martin stars, in this pile of dross. :disturbd: Peter Sellers must be turning in his grave. 3/10 And that's only because Beyonce is in it. :naughty:  |

Doom...
Loved Doom and Doom 2 games, REALLY loved Doom 3 and thought the movie would be pants. But I liked it, even though I knew what was going to happen since it was almost the same plot as the Doom 3 game! 7/10. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
I watched From Hell the other night, about the Ripper staring Johny Depp, great film
10/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw

Black Hawk Down - 8-9/10

re: Rate the last movie you saw
saw clerks 2 at the cinema - all of 5 people present!? no wonder it didn't run for a 2nd week. I found it disappointing, and I am a Kevin Smith fan (not as much as my other half!) - although it's supposed to be about dante and randal - I found them boring and their arguements between each other just annoying. It was more fun when randal argues with customers or the other staff (Elias? he so cute and geeky!), or when Jay and Silent Bob appear... best bit has to be Jay doing his 'silence of the lambs' / goodbye horses dance (check youtube!) 7/10 compared to Clerks (original) 9/10

re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw two films this week.
Clerks II: Excellent film. If you liked the first one, you'll love this. You, Me & Dupree: An OK film. Owen Wilson an Kate Hudson are excellent. |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Saw "An Inconvenient Truth" last night.
Very good :tu: Although it's preaching to the converted, & I very much doubt that any climate change skeptics would ever watch it & take it in. |

Clerks - on one of the cable channels last night 9/10 - Kevin Smith makes great, funny (often scatological) films, and I would recommend his others -
Chasing Amy Dogma Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back Mallrats even Jersey Girl; not in the same class as above, but still enjoyable. Word of advice - not for the easily shocked. |

Finding Neverland, starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslett and Dustin Hoffman.

5/10 |
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Accepted - quite a funny film, with some major laughs, just a lucky feel good movie, would give it 8/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Nacho Libre - Utter Sh#te. Not funny in the slightest. Slapstick without the funny aspect.
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
The Departed - could not have asked for a better ovie this year to watch.
Action and Suspense all the way through, right to the end. Would recommend it to anyone interested in a brilliant film - 10/10 |

The Grudge 2 - a couple of jumpy bits but thats it, for me it was a waste of the cinema, could have easily fallen asleep - IMO 5/10
|
re: Rate the last movie you saw
Click - 5/10 not really that funny after all the wait and too predicatable. Overtones of meet Joe Black also.
Da Vinci code - 6/10 Seemed forced all the way through and the chioce of the lead lady was horrendous. For a better storey in this vain see National Treasure with Nic cage which is 10/10. Or Sahara which I though was 9/10. |

Don't watch it on your own, if you're easily spooked. :erm: :D Hollow man 2 7/10 Don't remember the first, but this was ok, Christian Slater seems better when he's invisible lol. :D |

Quality movie and a real break from traditional hollywood type scripts, No shakey god damn hand cam either. A bit violent and you'll need your thinking cap on but a great piece of work by Scorsese, Jack Nicholson is ****ing superb too. See it. |
