£60 to increase broadband speed?
1 Attachment(s)
Just browsing through the 'my offers' page on my virgin media and I was shocked to see they want £60 just increase broadband speeds from 100mb to 200mb or 350mb.
That surely can't be right https://www.cableforum.uk/board/atta...1&d=1534591666 |
Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
Ignore My Offers, especially if you are already on a discount of any kind.

Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
It's just another way of reducing the headline cost. But £60 to (I suppose) just tap a few keys on one of their computers is very excessive.

Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
Upgrades are always best done over the phone.

Seems a bit pointless having an upgrade section then if they are going to rip customers off when it's most likely free over the phone |
Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
Does anyone actually ever use these things? I used to wonder how many would get hooked in at first but eventually I just figured that if word got round, enough people would just avoid the online system. If the change was uniform / universal with re-upping on cell contracts (like the change that they made years ago) then it would be a different matter. No choice. Then folks would quit using so many unnecessary parts of their cable package that they could do without...

Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
At one point the online upgrade tool was showing it would cost £40 a month to add a caller display to my line.
I think it gets confused with old bundles/packages and discounts. Which does beg the question what is the point in it? |
Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
VMs online upgrades always were pants. Never shows anything for me presumably because of discounts. As mentioned always ring, preferably retentions for any package changes to ensure the best price.

Re: £60 to increase broadband speed?
the activation fee will be for a shub3 and presumably a tech visit to make sure everything is ok but if you ring up I imagine you'll get that for free and they'll probably offer you a better deal on the monthly cost as well on the proviso that you agree to a new 12 month contract.
