Looks like most of the roof is on fire. Judging by the scaffolding there was work on it.

I've been to the highest and lowest points of the building. A shame the catholic church wouldn't help enough with saving it.

How many high profile buildings is that that have had fires start in their roof-spaces over the past few years? During "renovation work" ?

I hope the firemen warned Quasimodo as he is as deaf as a post, although I do believe he might have a hunch...

Sadly they probably won’t be able to save much. With a construction mostly of wood with stone outside you get a very hot fire that stays hot for some considerable time.

I have no doubt they will rebuild, but it will be a long & expensive job.

Very expensive l would say there are only so many skilled people in the world that can painstakingly do the job of rebuilding it plus sourcing the right and proper raw materials is going to be mightily expensive as well.
