Severance - 6/10. Enjoyable, but not as clever as it thinks.

The Break Up - 5/10. Okay, but it's one of those films which you'll forget within 24hrs.

Watched Old Boy again with some friends yesterday, Still A very good film,9 outta 10.

Transporter 2 - Id say 7/10 for no brainer action film. There are 2 bits in it tho where I think the director/producer/stunt team were on drugs. The first is where Statham drives his car from the top of one carpark to another one (separate buildings) and then theres a bit where you see him driving across the top of buildings that are separated by a narrow street. Couldnt stop laughing but the action and driving sequences apart from those 2 were great.

Happy Feet next ;) (I have a thing about penguins!)

We went to see Happy Feet just before Christmas and thought it was great. The animation is absolutely stunning - by far the best I have ever seen. However, the plot is a little thin and it would be quite a long / slow film for small kids.

For Christmas, Mrs A bought me the DVD of March of the Penguins, which is a documentary about the real thing. I wish I'd seen them the other way round 'cos it would have made HF even more realistic for me. Many of the scenes in HF are obviously based on those in MotP. The DVD-extra about shooting MotP is also interesting.

Saw The Andromeda Strain again last night. For a 35 year old science fiction film, it has stood the test of time well. Some of the science is a bit fanciful, but the author (M Crichton) wrote the book when in medical school. 9/10.

Awesome. 10/10.

Still the best comic-book movie adaptation, of the best comic-book character.

Hmm.

Very good in parts, very dull & slow in others.

Not Michael Mann's best.

Hot Fuzz - fuzztastic 8/10 (would have been 9/10, but took my 15 year old lad, who didn't get half the references, so had to (quietly) explain some of them to him, so missed a few bits).

The Departed . Wicked film there were 3 originals Infernal Affairs was the original one sequal and a prequal I look forward to seeing who plays a young Jack Nicholson. Mark Walburg has signed up for pt2

The Holiday a nice film

Highlander The Source. Well its Duncan MclCouds Highlander 2 and like Christopher Lamberts (Conor McCloud) Highlander 2 this is poor. Its set in the near future and The Source is what it sounds like its the power of the Immortals . If your a fan of the tv series watch it but if your not then stay away

I hope the reason the series has gone downhill is that they've saved up all the good stuff for the movie.

'Cos if the movie is like the recent new ones on Sky, it'll be a big let down.

The Departed is excellent :tu:

One of the best movies of 2006.

They've made another Highlander?

I loved the original movie, & the series was pretty good (although went crap later on). Didn't think that "Endgame" (the first Duncan movie) was too bad, not anywhere near as good as the very first Highlander movie though.

Very cleverly done story with beautiful cinematography. Can't say too much more (without spoiling the ending) but well worth a watch if you like period mysteries. :D

Also liked Ghost Rider 8/10 good effects and comic book translation without looking plastic and tacky like the Bat Man and Superman films.

I purchased a second-hand copy of Bridget Jones's Diary from Help The Aged last week. Mrs A thought it was "okay" but, of course, I thought it was a load of rubbish. what a waste of £2.99! The heavy nods towards Pride and Prejudice try to give the thing far more weight than the weak script commands.

About a Boy is a zillion times better.

- Prestige -

Interesting film, quite different subject from your typical everyday films, focussing around the world of magic.
Fear not, this is not a children's movie. This is set in the early 1900's and explores the world of magic and what the greatest magic trick can ever be.
Lot's of twists and a good film overall :tu:

The Prestige -9/10. A really good film. Can't say much about it, without spoiling it for anyone.

300 (cinema) -

Hmm, 7.5/10. Great comic-book sword & sandal action epic.

Casino Royale (DVD) -

Best Bond in years. Absolutely brilliant.

Eva Green...

Borat - 2/10

Didn't even make me laugh, don't understand all the hype over it. In fact, the only time I did laugh was when they were fighting naked in the hotel.

Anchorman - 9/10

Stupid but hilarious! 'I love lamp'

Casino Royale - definitely NOT the best bond, it was the first bond book, and should have been portrayed as such, as it was, it didn't work

20 movies in they make a bond which shows the promotion of James Bond to 00 status, with modern tech, and set in present day, doesn't work... they should have gone full retro and depicted it as taking place before Dr No.

Ghost Rider - Superb film, one to watch definitely.

Epic Movie - Over hyped, no real storyline as such, very disappointing in it's content..

I've heard "Shooter" is good. A bit "24" in style.
I'll have to check it out. :tu:

Never watched any 24, well not more than 2 minutes worth, so wouldn't know.
