Breaking - White House has just warned of a ‘large Serbian military military deployment’ on Kosovo border including ‘unprecedented staging’ of advanced artillery and tanks. Calls for withdrawal. ‘We believe this is a very destabilising development’, NSC’s John Kirby says
Well, that's all we need.

Selfish question. How is this likely to effect me?

Well, considering the last time there was a Serbian/Kosovan conflict, it nearly led to World War III, which, you know, would affect almost everyone, due to the high probability of Instant Sunshine being delivered to most neighbourhoods.

So many asked when Geramany invaded Poland in 1939. Or more recently Iraq invading Kuwait or Russia/Ukraine. All these things destabilise and will affect you.

TBH if Russia was likely to do anything they would have already done it imo. They are a bit busy at the mo to get involved in another conflict surely

Well, it would be a handy distraction from the "Special Military Operation", making NATO focus on two potential fronts…

General Wesley Clark was mental, and was removed from any place he might do any damage not long after this. Serbia kicking off did not nearly cause World War 3, a mad American general ordering a British detachment to attack Russians at Pristina airfield might have done.

Even if the present supreme commander of Nato in Europe was equally nuts, the chances of Russia managing to take an airfield in the Balkans are even less likely than their being able to do so in Ukraine, not least because any Russian halfway competent to do so was killed trying to do it in Ukraine, or in the months afterwards.

This is a really important point that does not get enough attention: how much of the core officer, NCO, etc. knowledge & experience has been lost in Ukraine? Makes you wonder how the current Russian Army compares, in personnel terms, to the one a couple of years ago? ...

Kosovo is the Parthenon of Serbia.

They did not mind that Albanian immigrants became a majority there. All their monasteries and churches are there but with Albanian Muslim habitants.

The EU, NATO and UN promised that Kosovo will never be independent. Trust them.

The problem is that Serbians, Montenegrins ... (all Balkans minus Croats) etc love the Albanians. How can they fight against them? Religion ain't a problem.

The Croats were the only ones that aligned with the Nazis.

UK troops into Kosovo, RAF jets already in Poland.

"UK will deploy around 200 soldiers from 1st Battalion of the Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment in the coming days to join the 400-strong British contingent already in country as part of an annual exercise."
