Is this the actual virgin media billing team?
 

Hey,

Just had a call from virgin (i think) they said that there was a problem with my internet bill payment and I need to give updated details or try to make the payment over the phone. I told them Id call them back in a moment so I could find my bank card. I looked the number up online (01753417470) as I know sometimes you get scam calls from virgin. The number has mixed comments, mainly saying its a scam but the one person said it was genuine so not sure (comments here . I dont want to be sat on hold for ages so would rather call the billing team direct than the general customer services number, so is this a real number or not please?

Never ever give credit/debit card details or make a payment over the phone to anyone who rings you no matter if the call seems genuine.

Call the usual Customer Services number (150 or 0345 454 1111). There should be a comment on your account if someone tried to call you

This just doesn't apply to virgin but never ever just assume the person on the phone is from the company they claim to be.

If they are questioning your account and ask for money %100 of the time it's a scam, if in doubt just hang up and call back on a verified number not a number they give you to call.
