Latest trailer for Alita:Battle Angel

General Maximus 19-12-2018 17:33

Re: Films to see in 2019

this potentially looks excellent. It is by James Gunn and I am not sure whether it is deliberate or not but it looks like a darker version of Superman. How awesome would it by if you saw Superman flying high in the sky above fying bad guys with his heat vision rather than coming down and having needless punch ups?

Another one to watch out for

Where as the new Hellboy looks dreadful.

Various sources on the web seem to be saying it’s set "minutes after the ending of Avengers:Endgame".

very very interesting. So are we assuming that either a time stone is used by Captain Marvel or Antman does something in one of those quantum vortices he is trapped in and somebody goes back in time, changes the course of events and a new alternate timeline emerges?

Makes it all very exciting. We are expecting the post credits scene for Captain Marvel to tie straight in to Endgame and presumably now and post credits scenes (or one of) for Endgame will feed straight into Spiderman.

I think it looks flipping awesome and I can't wait. I know the second one was quite popular as well so I am hoping they do a triple bill for them at the cinema. I would love to sit down and watch three of them back to back,

General Maximus 27-01-2019 17:23

Re: Films to see in 2019

I am sure it will be huge either way (china) and i'll make a prediction now that it will hit $1.5bn globally. I think the only 2 films which will beat it this year are Endgame and Star Wars Episode IX, with Captain Marvel and Lion King coming in very close behind.

General Maximus 28-01-2019 18:46

Re: Films to see in 2019

It's not flipping out till next year so I don't know why on earth they are releasing a teaser for it a year in advance unless they think it is going to be a flop

Perhaps to enlighten people to its existance.

I knew nothng about it and had to look it up.

General Maximus 28-01-2019 21:10

Re: Films to see in 2019

I can see the core character/justice league films doing well but i think the two joker films, harley quinn and everything else are going to flop. They are once again confusing things by having a new Birds of Prey series and movie coming out around the same time with different actresses.

Stephen 28-01-2019 21:23

Re: Films to see in 2019

I knew of the plans to make the movie and 5he cast but had no idea they had actually filmed it already.

It's not really something that interests me though.

Re: Films to see in 2019

My must-see films for the cinema are currently:

John Wick 3
Star Wars: Episode IX
Avengers: Endgame
Spider-Man: Far From Home
x-Men: Dark Phoenix

Really love to see the big action blockbusters in the cinema, then save smaller films for DVD. Still a fan of renting the disc version, as you get so many great extra features, plus it looks amazing on Blu Ray.

General Maximus 31-01-2019 18:57

Re: Films to see in 2019

me too, there are some films where you just cant beat the cinema experience. Avatar was a big one for me and last year it was Ready Player One.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Terminator Reboot (untitled as yet)
Shazam

This looks interesting - a big budget Chinese SF film called "The Wandering Earth".

Quote:

The Sun was dying out, people all around the world built giant planet thrusters to move Earth out of its orbit and to sail Earth to a new star system.

Yet the 2500 years journey came with unexpected dangers, and in order to save humanity, a group of young people in this age of a wandering Earth came out boldly and fought hard for everyone's survival.

Yeah i thought the same thing. I hope they are still polishing it because it looks like 90s tv special effects where they are obviously standing in front if a green screen and they havent got the focus between the foreground and background right.

I am still not feeling it. Unfortunately I think this is going to be a colossal disappointment. When I saw the trailers for Beauty and the Beast and the Lion King I got a certain feeling about them and knew/know they are going to be good. I don't get that with this and the fact that they have tried to include all the key bits of the film in the trailer makes me think they are worried and are trying to win people over early.

Stephen 12-03-2019 20:06

Re: Films to see in 2019

Well this is the third trailer and the first 2 really had people criticising it.

So for this they had to include a lot of stuff to make people notice it. I did get a lot more feels about this trailer than the other I'd seen. I am more confident now and think it might actually be ok.

Just to clarify, you are wrapping a youtube link with forum tags so if you have a url such as youtube.com/watch?v=Ye1ir8MQS4w the bit which you are interested in is the "video name" which is the bit after v=............

so as an example, to embed the video above it would be:

[youtube]Ye1ir8MQS4w[/youtube ]

removing the space from the end bracket to complete the code:

Stephen 04-04-2019 19:00

Re: Films to see in 2019

My links don't look like that. I always see them like so

https://youtu.be/Ye1ir8MQS4w

So it is the part after the /

I usually click the share option and copy link when I am using the app on my phone or tablet.
