Broadband Down

Woke up Saturday morning with my daughter saying she couldn't get access to youtube and found the Superhub 2AC has a flashing first light (tick).

Ran a server status on my mobile and it said no broadband issues, but the self test said my equipment was switched off??

Phoned virgin (India) and they ran the usual checks without joy and have arranged an engineer for Tuesday :(

The service status still says 'No Issues'? Is this usual or has the fault not been logged correctly?

Thanks for any advice.

Usually if it is an issue affecting alot of people when you go to phone up the first thing you hear is a recorded message telling you there is a fault, so if it is still down since yesterday then it is likely just you and you're lucky the engineer is coming on Tuesday.

I am assuming you have tried rebooting the hub?

Thanks for the reply Snoopz.

Yes, tried rebooting the hub at various times over the weekend. Still a flashing 'Tick' :(

Re: Broadband Down

this has happened to me a few times before. There will be a local issue which is affecting everyone but because enough people haven't rang up about it they are unaware of the issue. What will probably happen is the tech will come out today, say he has been to three or four jobs like it and he will go away and ring networks. It is annoying that you have to wait a couple of days for someone to come out but usually once the tech gets the ball rolling everything is fixed and up again in 4 hours. It is just the way things work unfortunately. It is only when enough people ring up that they click there is a problem and then the service status page gets updated saying there is a problem.

Let us know how things go.

Sorry for the delay in reply .. Colchester ..

Whole weekend (and Monday) without Broadband (I rebooted 5 or 6 times to see if I could spark it into life without luck). Booked Tuesday morning off work ready for the engineer.

Monday evening at 6pm broadband booted up by itself. I can only assume someone had found an unreported fault and fixed it ...

Cancelled the engineer, but now wondering when it will next drop out for 3 days :(
