Code Generator app for Twitter
 

I logged out of a Twitter account a while ago and when I try to get back in the security settings text a code to a number I no longer have access to.

The only other option to get me back in is to use a code generator app on my phone.

Things is I have no idea how they work. I have downloaded the Google code generator app as well as Authy but neither make sense.

Anyone have an idiot proof method?

If you're thinking of Google Authenticator then i believe you have to set this up while you're logged into the account, then when you log in it asks you to input the code from the authenticator that is linked to your account.
