Great, they left that on a right old cliffhanger.

you need the right actors and characters for it. If for example it was done in the same tone as the New Adventures of Superman with Dean Cain and Terry Hatcher it would have been too cheesy and not worked. It would be perfect though if they did it with the same cast from Smallville and got Tom Welling and Erica Durance back (although I want it to be Lana/Kristen Kreuk). Those guys really nailed it and made it mean something when it came to the emotional moments whether it be humour, sadness or love. Lana and Clark had a couple of special episodes where everything was perfect and their lives were bliss. I would love to see them zip forward 10 years and for Clark and Lana to have settled down in the Kent house in Smallville living in perfect happiness with baby Clarke's running around the farm. It would be hilarious seeing them playing chase and speeding around the farm, burning wholes in the grass and lifting cows up.

It has been common knowledge for a while but HBO have unveiled their new streaming service. There is a obviously a tonne of existing content which will be available on it but the exciting thing is going to be the new original content which will be in the works. If it was any other service I would be very meh about it because you know they were doing it out of necessity to justify to the existence of the platform however you can be very confident that with it being HBO the quality of the new series is going to be exceptional.

Yup, got through it all in about a week (which is saying something with the competition for the TV in our house).

It’s quite old fashioned in many ways. Reminded me of the sort of sci fi novels I loved as a kid, by Ben Bova and the like. It takes a couple of episodes to get going and the dialogue can be a bit expository at times, but it’s a well conceived universe and it’s a story that unfolds at pace. It doesn’t suffer the all too common problem of having just one idea that they then have to spin out over 10 weeks.

That’s a crap name ... sounds like a 1950s skiffle band :D

Yeah, its a bit of a mouthful, maybe they should stick to just "The Canaries".

EXCLUSIVE: New Republic Pictures’ Brian Oliver and producer Bradley J. Fischer acquired the exclusive rights to all works in Michael Moorcock’s seminal fantasy-horror series The Elric Saga. They are beginning to shop the property for series, with Glen Mazzara (The Walking Dead and The Shield) and Prison Break and Star Trek: Discovery‘s Vaun Wilmott attached to adapt the sci-fi fantasy tale.
Having read the books years ago this is something I'm looking forward to coming to fruition.

Noah Hawley is directing the Next Star Trek Film

https://www.comingsoon.net/movies/ne...star-trek-film
Quote:

Hawley is best known for his work in television. He achieved mainstream success on FX when he created the Fargo TV series in 2014. Three years later, he followed this up with the X-Men-adjacent series Legion, which also aired on FX. Hawley made his feature directorial debut earlier this year with Lucy in the Sky, which he also co-wrote. He was also attached to write and direct a Doctor Doom standalone film for 20th Century Fox before Disney absorbed the studio’s IP.

According to THR, Star Trek 4 is expected to feature Chris Pine as James Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Spock, and Zoe Saldana as Uhura, among others. Pine’s return is somewhat surprising. Last year, Pine and franchise co-star Chris Hemsworth reportedly opted out of the film over salary disputes. But fortunately, it sounds like these have been resolved.

I also have the set of Elric novels. This will be an interesting adaptation as some of the content is quite "challenging".

Trivia: Elric also appears as a cameo in "Dancers at the End of Time"
